Not such an ugly duckling

I went for a lovely walk this morning with two of my sisters along the Ouse Valley Park.  The weather wasn't great, but we did see a duckling, rabbits, a swan rearranging their nest (see extra photos) and lots of swifts, as well as the usual sheep and cows.

I've always liked the work of Douglas Adams (it makes me laugh) and when I see a duckling I'm always reminded of his quote: 'If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have to at least consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.'
