Main Theatre of Hamburg, Hamburger Schauspielhaus

We celebrated Mother's day with an excellent brunch , followed by a play in the baroque Schauspielhaus. It is one of the more than 50 different theaters here. We saw The Physicists (of Duerrenmatt).
In the afternoon the sun came out of the clouds , so we spent another hour on the Elbterrassen, the terraces above the harbor of the Elbe.
The Hamburg Harbor is huge inspite of being  50 miles inland and is the third biggest of Europe. Today they had celebrated the birthday of the harbor with a big parade of oldtimer ships with many sails. In the annexe picture you can only see one on the way back to the harbor with most of the sails rolled up.
In the center you see a huge hanging bridge, that does not need to be opened even for the biggest and highest ships, the Koehlbrand bridge. It was famous for its architecture once it was built. You may want to google it, if you are interested in bridges.

I am a little sad because of the quality of the uploaded pictures. They don't look as clear and sharp as on my screen, once uploaded.Did anybody else notice this?

Thanks for visiting ! :-)
