Mother's Day

Foor a variety of reasons everybody is really tired tonight. Tim and his family got caught in a horrendous traffic jam yesterday on the way home from the San Francisco Zoo. He gave up trying to describe exactly what was going on in their car during this time and just said it was a "perfect storm of misery".As a result, Joni and the kids elected to stay home today, but Tim came with Olive the dog.

Will and Jim went to a Giant's game in San Francisco, but Dana and Peter came with Blake (after Dana took Will's tuxedo back to the  rental place).. Peter made perfect cream puffs (our go-to recipe for a "special" dessert) and butterscotch sauce.

My brother arrived next, and we sat and watched Olive and Blake try to run each other into the ground…literally. Ozzie pretended that they weren't there.  After a delicious dinner prepared on dual barbecues by OilMan,  Tim left and Jim arrived with Will and Rudy the small dog. A call from Matt gave everybody a chance to catch up..

The ebb and flow has now ended. It was a lovely day, and Rick, OilMan and I are ready for bed even before the sun goes down….

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms on this side of the pond. Well, actually to moms everywhere. We deserve it.
