The other one....

On August 12th last year I blipped the other (and rarer) species of this long nosed hoverfly  Rhingia rostrata, well this is the other more common species Rhingia campestris, and judging how gravid she is, a female.
These little flies are quite common around here, flitting round nectaring on the spring flowers with their long proboscis.
We had 3 more male Downey emerald dragonflies hatch out today....one got caught in the weeds, and hurt his wing, and we had to rescue him...but he seems to have managed OK and had flown off later when we checked.
