Day 155

What a wonderful bank holiday! The sun has been out (almost) all day which is a very welcome sight after yesterday. It's the 1940s wartime weekend in Ramsbottom which is a village a couple of miles from ours. The East Lancashire Steam Railway runs there, so there's been lots of things happening all weekend - men dressed as WW2 soldiers, women in 1940s clothes, battle demonstrations, fly overs, vehicles, etc - so we ventured down today.

The atmosphere was lovely with loads of people and wartime music playing. We got the steam train to Bury, had some lunch and did lots of pre holiday clothes shopping then got the train back to Ramsbottom and ended up in the local pub for a couple of sneaky drinks!

This couple were sat on a bench outside the train station and I just thought they looked so genuine - they were deep in conversation and I felt transported back to the 1940s, as if he was about to get on the train to go back to war and they were saying goodbye. I got other shots (all on my phone unfortunately) but this one won as today's blip.
