Day 156

Had to go with this for today's blip as it sums up the British spirit - even the rain will not spoil our jubilee celebrations!

It was our village's party today at the cricket club. There were stalls, rides for the children, hook-a-duck, tug of war etc, and we had planned a picnic with the in laws (they live in the village as well) and were hoping and praying for a fine day. But this is the great British summer, so of course it wasn't warm and it wasn't dry! We got there and got unpacked, laid out the blankets, put up the chairs, and then in true sod's law style it started to rain! Luckily it wasn't heavy rain, and after a while it did stop. But we are British and were determined not to let it spoil our fun!

We still had a great day, H won prizes, he joined in with the tug of war, and the jubilee spirit was strong with everyone all day. We did concede defeat after a few hours though and sought warmth and dry and alcohol inside at the cricket club!

This is my father in law doing what he does best - being generally very silly!
