Marjorie's ramblings

The best tonic

Another quiet day to aid recovery spent at home.

After early morning sunshine, we had a dark day with frequent showers and even heavy hailstones. I had hoped to photograph the tree peony flowers but they took a major battering from the hail.

In the late afternoon, Dick and Doc (his dog) arrived. The weather is not suiting Dick's plans for planting out or grass cutting. I decided that I had to have fresh air so pottered around the garden.  So many flowers have come out in the last 48 hours and I felt much better after 15 minutes amongst them.

This quiet, calm clematis grows over a wall and can easily be missed. The pulmonaria with variegated leaves is always the last to flower but the leaves provide interest all summer. The beech trees are in their prettiest clothing of young leaves. See my extra images from today and say hello to Doc (trying to look cute, but really hoping for more Bonios!)
