The life & times of Jacks

Too Much Indulgence

On Thursday night Steve and I boarded a flight to Glasgow for some wedding stuff.

The trip up was a bit hairy as Steve had just returned from New York on business early on Thursday morning.  I was later home from work than planned so we had quite a rush out the door.

As we parked up in Luton airport - already running a bit late we realised Steve had left his hand luggage at home.  This had his passport in it amongst other things.  Steve was totally dazed and jet lagged and couldn't make any decision on what to do (not that we had a tonne of time for anything).  Luckily he had his driving license on him - good thing Scotland is still part of the UK :)

On Friday I booked us a massage at seamill Hydro as I had known Steve was bordering on exhaustion.  While there we enjoyed a nice breakfast in their Orangey before heading to the castle for another look around, discussion on wedding day running order and then food (and WINE!!!) tasting as we finalised decisions for the day.  It all started feeling very real to us both as we sat at the top table in our respective positions.  Freaky.

The food was amazing - we are now very relaxed about our food and wine choices.  Was a bit gutted that I was driving as it meant I didn't get much other than a couple of sips of the wine choices and the champagne choices as Scotland has a zero tolerance policy now to drinking and then driving.  People don't even risk one glass of wine as there is no room for just one glass anymore.  This is obviously a good thing for ensuring road safety.

Afterwards we went to see my sister and headed out for dinner with her - Steve and I were absolutely stuffed but still managed to enjoy a nice meal.

The kids were at their cousin's house for a sleepover so we did get a nice wee long lie even if there was a bit of a headache in the morning across the group of us.  Not that that stopped any adventures on the Saturday.
