The Angel of the North

I'm not the first to blip this monster of a sculpture, and I'm sure I won't be the last, but it's the first time I've seen it and it had to be my blip today. Lovely sky to set it off, isn't it!

Designed by Antony Gormley, and completed in 1998, it stands on a hillside near Gateshead and measures 20 metres high, with a wingspan of 54 metres. It is impressive!

My extra photo today is a field of buttercups nearby. Also impressive!

If I could take photos by blinking my eyes, I'd have added one of an oystercatcher pecking around the grounds of an A1 service station, would you believe!
