Capitalism vs Altruism

Wide Angle Wednesday:  Opposites

This is the Galleries in Bristol's shopping centre.  Although not that old it has suffered from the nearby development of Cabot Circus which, black hole like, has shifted the retail gravity.  There are always several empty units.  However, it still hosts a large outlet of Waterstones and an independent  music retailer called Head.  When it is wet and cold in the winter its not a bad place to go to while away a lunch hour (assuming of course that I have my proposed blip in the bag already).  Making lists of books to read, and CDs to listen to, has always been a favourite activity.

This lunch time the ground floor was occupied by any number of stalls, largely from the charitable/voluntary sectors, although there were a number pushing the green agenda and alternative therapies etc.  There were musicians playing and the whole event was being filmed.  The shoppers passing by seemed bemused by the whole thing :-)

So we have:

1.   Capitalism and Altruism

2.   Up and down

3.   Sunshine and shadow

4.   The opposite sides of the balconies

5.   Curves and straight lines

Still no Nikon so this is taken with my iPhone with a limited panorama to try to create that wide angled lens feel.  The good news is that I am expecting to have it back for the weekend - hurrah!

With thanks once again to Chantler63 for all the hard work involved in running Wide Angle Wednesday and for setting this challenge.  You should be able to see the entries here (although searching by tags wasn't working when I tried it earlier on tonight).
