The early bird catches the worm...

On Memorial Day we'd been working in the yard enlarging a flower bed and setting up a new stone bird bath and steel sculpture we had received from a family member.  This American Robin soon found a juicy worm in the freshly dug earth, then took a bath in the large deep bird bath.  Usually the Robins empty my bird baths as quickly as I can fill them, particularly on a very hot day, but this new bird bath has a large deep top on it, so it can have multiple Robin baths taken and not empty quickly.  I placed a graded stone in one area so tiny birds can alight on it and bathe in a smaller pool of water the stone sections off - like in the shallow end of a swimming pool.
