More Musings In the City

Although my mind was entirely occupied for the duration of the meeting, at times it wasn't entirely occupied by the substance of the same. Not that you'd know that outwardly, judging by my rapt attentive demeanour.
What an advantage a strong regional or national accent can be at such meetings. Our cockernee payments systems expert with an attitude that convinces you to buy whatever he's selling. My South African Boss with his halting language. Harsh. Direct. Lacking flum-flammery and waffle. Our Dutch head of business testing. Who tokz all ze time like ziss. Unchallengeable.
But it can go too far. We needed the top infrastructure dude to come and talk through the latest thinking on the build. He arrived. A Swiss Frenchman. Wearing a polo shirt with a big French flag and a polo pony on it.
It's all going to end in tears. Maybe of laughter, mind. There's an expression I'm struggling to remember. I think it includes 'all the way' and 'bank.'
