It's Queen's Birthday weekend in New Zealand, with Monday being a public holiday to celebrate Her Majesty's Coronation. Each year on this weekend South Canterbury's roads hum to the sound of vintage cars making their way to Fairlie for the Irishman Creek Rally, this year being the 61st year it's being held in the Mackenzie Country.

As we made our way back home from Christchurch - via the inland road through the Rakaia Gorge, our preferred route - we passed through Mayfield. As I nipped into the dairy to grab some water, Mrs H noticed these classics parked up outside Overflow, the amazing curio-treasure trove so beloved by Mrs H and other fans of retro collectibles. Well spotted Mrs H.

I've gone for a cross-process style effect for this shot to give it even more of a retro feel. And of course the Fujifilm X-series "Classic Chrome" film simulation, for that lovely Kodachrome look.
