a lifetime burning

Birds do it, bees do it, even educated fleas do it

May Macro Mayhem #4

My word, they're breeding like flies!

These two were so busy with doing what comes naturally to flies in May that they didn't notice the chap with the camera sticking his lens barely inches away.  Clearly I have future as an insect porn photographer .... let's hope  blip central don't notice!

A nice slow Saturday, time to recharge the batteries.  Part of the day involved a trip to the local garden centre where I saw these two.  Cathy wanted to get some bedding plants and a couple of grassy things for the pond and I wanted to pop into town.  Wonderful blip-spouse that she is, she suggested that I bring the camera to the garden centre to see if there was anything blip-worthy.

I also spotted a ladybird, which is the subject of my extra photo.  Unfortunately its not one of the good guys, its a Harlequin, not a native to these shores and it is in the process of rapidly wiping out our native ladybird species.  I have notified the find to the Harlequin Ladybird Survey, although monitoring the pest becoming the dominant species is kind of soul destroying.
