Green Winged Orchid

I photographed 29 different wild flowers today on a circular walk from Leonard Stanley, near Stroud in the Cotswolds. This orchid was however my favourite. I left my wildflower book at home so thanks to intothehills for doing the job remotely for me. We saw lots of birds too and Peter enjoyed using his new birdsong app.

The walk covered a small part of the Cotswold Way and included Coaley Peak, Coaley Wood, Stanley Wood and Selsey Common. It was a mostly grey day so the scenery wasn't its best but we stayed dry and enjoyed the diversity of flowers and fresh green leaves in the famous beech woods.
