Water supply

Today we ran out of water while I was in the shower. There's plenty of water about, just not in our tanks. In fact it's heavy rain that often causes this, because it washes mud and pine needles down the hill where they block the intake.

Five minutes with a spade is all it takes to get the tank filling again, but then you have to wait several hours before there's enough water in the system to bleed the air out.

And then you have to change the filter too - the old one will be clogged with dirt.
