Passage planning

A day of graded unit presentations at work today. That all went pretty well, but the journey home was a bit of a nightmare as there was an oil spill on the bridge which made for big delays.

Still made it in time for training though, which was passage planning this evening. The next afloat exercises, which is a couple of weeks away for my watch, will involve navigating using the passage plans , where the person that wrote them  has no visibility and has to direct the helm using their passage plan and radar to check we're where the locations are correct.

Obviously the helm will be able to see what's going on, but it should be a great exercise, both to check our passage plans and for using radar as a navigation aid.
