All the Fun of the Fair...

......if only the gale force winds would die down sufficiently to allow the fairground staff to erect the chair rides and high tops.

It was a walk on the wild side in the Meadows this morning although it was not cold and the sun shone. The grass was carefully mown and the trees a moving tapestry of rich greens. The whole park was looking beautiful as it shimmered in the sunshine.

It seems such a shame that the city fathers have arranged later in the summer for a large part of the Festival Fringe to decamp from its usual George Square spot to the east side of Middle Meadow Walk, the same spot that the Lady Boys of Bangkok used to inhabit with their large marquee.
This will mean much more of a disruption with all the people, noise and litter involved.

Meantime, the Meadows Fair with its myriad stalls will be in full swing this Saturday and Sunday. With any luck it will be a year when it doesn't rain.

The Fair trailers are huge beasts with giant headlights.
