Winter in Summer

I was in Oban for much of the day at a very good event called the "People's Council" organised by a group of activists in the town in order to encourage debate about what type of local government we want and what we can do here and across Scotland to get it.

However the day was, in weather terms, horrendous.   Gales and rain for most of the time, with an intermittent beam of watery sunshine quickly vanishing "amidst the storm" .

The picture was taken at St Catherines beside Loch Fyne - a telephone pole leaning into the wind with grey water and grey hills behind.
