Glen Lonan

Argyll is so big that it is still possible , even into my sixth year as the MSP (and my 25th as a resident) to find places I haven't been before.

This is the Glen Lonan road which runs for eight miles from Taynuilt to a junction with the road that goes across the back of Oban, from Connel to Kilmore.   Taking it on the way to Seil (where I was going today) cuts about four miles form the journey via Oban, but probably loses about twenty minutes given it is single track , with lots of blind summits, all the way.

It is a very beautiful road, however, and particularly when the sun was shining from a flawless blue sky, as it was today.
