Hummers!

Finally, I had my camera in hand and focused at the right time and was able to get some shots of these fascinating and fast moving little creatures.  I believe this is a female Ruby-throated hummingbird. 

These tiny birds are only 3-5 inches from tip of bill to tip of tail, and they flap their wings at a rate of about 50 times per second.  They can fly at speeds between 25-40 mph.  While these images are not nearly the quality of many I have seen here on blip, I am still quite delighted.  This is my first hummingbird blip.  There are a couple of more shots in the extras.
