Fred & Andy

The morning doesn't start well as the Kindle, which is our main internet access now we have no computer and which has been one of the most useful things we've brought on this trip, doesn't seem to want to charge. It shares a charger with Andy's phone and that is working so we think it may be the Kindle not the charger although we hope not. Ricky tries the travel adapter for us and says it's connection isn't good so we head out to buy another ... it still seems to be charging really slowly but it is doing something so we leave it for a bit ... fingers crossed.

Andy's feeling ok but still has a dodgy belly so we decide to give Doy's trio tomorrow a miss - he doesn't seem too bothered when we ring him so we think we've done the right thing. Where to next then? After much discussion we decide to head to Pangkalan Bun and to Tanjung Puting National Park. It's where the famous research place, Camp Leakey, is and is home to both wild and rehab orangutans although the public rarely see the wild ones as there is limited access to much of the park. We were in two minds about going to a rehab place but this one has good reviews and we don't really want to leave Kalimantan without seeing any orangs so we book our flight.

After jiggling the chargers around a bit and using the usb one the Kindle finally seems to be keeping some charge so we sit by the pool and email some contacts for trips into Tanjung Puting National Park. A couple of them get back to us really quickly and one in particular has good reviews and a good price once we've negotiated a little so we go ahead and book it! They'll meet us at the airport tomorrow morning and we will be whisked straight onto our klotok (boat) to start the trip. Nothing has been this easy or happened this fast since we've been in Kalimantan ... they must be much more used to tourism in Pangkalan Bun.

Superman 3 keeps us entertained before bed.
