Cuckoo Spit

We've been hearing cuckoos very early in the morning for about 3 weeks now. I love to lie in bed and just listen to the birds outside at this time of year. As long as the weather permits, we open the windows as wide as they'll go, and sometimes the birdsong is so loud, you can't hear anything else.
Cuckoo spit is of course, nothing whatsoever to do with cuckoos. This is on some of the lavender in our front garden, which we said we would dig up this year - we just didn't get round to it, but I'm not disappointed as I love the lavender.
