Out for a walk

Well we did not expect to meet a ferret going for a walk when we were out and about today.
Mike and myself  went to Redcastle and sat on a wall near the burn and had our ham salad rolls and nearly had our doughnuts stolen by a passing dog ! We walked through the hedgerow of wildflowers buzzing with life and as we walked further the buzzing got louder and louder and then we were almost attacked as we walked through a flow of bees flying towards the farm house and what we think were probably bee hives behind the wall. Hundreds of bees were flying around franticly and one got stuck in my hair. It was there for a few minutes before it managed to free itself and buzzed off. We ran past on the way back so beware if you go there !
We spotted an Osprey flying over, maybe Barons Ollie, and whilst we snapped away two ladies approached.' I thought I had better pick him up' said the lady in the pink top,' he thinks the Osprey will eat him'. We turned round expecting her to be holding a little dog and were shocked to see this ferret, Hazel. She was on a lead and off on a trek round the woods. She's frightened of Buzzards and red kites not surprisingly but does nt realise that the huge Osprey only eats fish !

The flowers in the small hamlet were beautiful, bright red poppies lined the wall and the small seating area looked lovely with the azaleas in bloom.
We watched a dipper in the burn , really busy collecting insects and the flying under the bridge, I wonder if it's nest may be there.
