In My World

In Memory of Alma...

A few days ago a very dear blipper passed away. At the age of 84, Alma (AMC) had added over 900 entries to her journal during the last three years.

Alma's daughter, Anni, (Biker Bear,) who hosts Flower Friday every week, is obviously devastated by the loss of her mother, and as much as I would love to be with Anni in person at this sad time, that's geographically impossible, and I know that those of you who know Anni will be feeling the same way right now.

So although we can't be with Anni, we can show her our support by dedicating our flower blips to Alma for Flower Friday today, as our way of showing Anni how much we all cared for her dear Mum.

Anni has suggested that our entries this week have two tags - "FlowerFriday12" and "for Alma". Anni usually awards hearts for her favourite flower entries. This week, the hearts are all for Anni.

I hope you will join me in sending your deepest condolences to Anni, "Himself" and their family, at this very sad time.

I would like to request also that as many blippers as possible pass the word along, through their own journals, that this week's Flower Friday is in memory of Alma, and perhaps if you knew Alma, or Anni, say a few words about your memories of Anni's beautiful mum...

I will always remember Alma as one of the kindest and dearest ladies I have met here. If you were lucky enough to know Alma, when she left a comment on your journal, she always signed it at the end with her name ~ Alma. And her love for her daughter, Anni, shone through in her words. She was proud of Anni, she was her best friend, and Anni's most supportive fan. And the feelings were obviously mutual. The love between mother and daughter could be "felt" through their words, rather than read.

Alma loved flowers, and I'm sure that the spirit of Alma will be looking through all of the floral journal entries this week with great delight, now free from pain, seeing us all add our entries through our tears over our loss.

We were all blessed to know Alma.

Rest well, dear friend. xx
