Shy face at window

This morning I was up early and ready to go and watch the cows leaving their byres for the pastures. You find a few cows pottering about the streets, eating what they can find in the verges, but gradually they head for or are driven out of the village towards the pastures. It's a fine sight.

A few minutes later the goats make a similar journey but they need a bit more control than the cows!

The cows walked through one part of the village where the people are of Roma origin. This little girl was waiting for her mother to return from sending their cow out. She did smile for other photos, but I like the serious expression here. The window is filthy, hence the other wordly effect on her face.

Note that the bricks (red) are have mortar laid horizontally but not between the short ends of the bricks. This is typical of the area. When people have enough money they have the walls rendered.
