Living the 'high' life

A whole 'date' day with the man today, yay. We had worship practice first thing, then raced out to Tung Chung to watch San Andreas... the new movie about the San Andreas fault in California and the big earthquake that is coming.

Was sad to see the Hoover Dam and San Francisco destroyed (in the movie!). We saw both of those two years ago on our visit to the U.S. It's a Hollywood movie and for the most part, a good way of alerting the world to the fact that the big one is coming and how one should/could be prepared/react.

Then we dropped in to visit friends who live in Tung Chung. Really enjoyed the spontaneous visit; they were babysitting their grandkids and it was super to hang out with them all and get to know the kids. This picture is of the area they live in. Quite close to the airport and these more modern high rises are the first block of units you see when you arrive in HK. They're no way near the top floors thankfully :)

We then had a broggle through the outlet mall and actually did pick up some bargains, sales on everywhere, it was the busiest we'd ever seen that mall.

Back to DB for cigar, beers and samosas and also got invited to join some of the Indian community at the tables for bhel puri, which is something I am not used to at all. Still, it was good to meet some more long staying residents of DB.

Most enjoyable day.
