Sneaking a peek?

Just have returned home in Belgium again, another exhausting day of being prodded and poked, of waiting and waiting some more. But this time I did have a couple of hours in which I could go outside and I decided to go to the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum, which is a mere 5 minutes walk from the Erasmus Medical Centre. There's a great design collection, but there are old masters and impressionists too. Here old meets new, a very contemporary joking artist made a self portrait sculpture which seems to peep through a manhole through the floor of one of the old masters' exhibition rooms. It's life-size, when you look down in the hole you see him standing on a stool to get through the hole in the floor. Untitled (manhole) by Maurizio Cattelan. And as an extra, a beautiful play of colours and lines by Jan van der Ploeg - Wall Painting 155 (Staff)

Thanks very much for your birthday wishes, comments and stars for my flowers and cake, glad you liked it :-)
