Sun, glorious Sun!

Dear Diary,

After two dreary, rainy days this morning brought sun, glorious sun!  Coming back from opening up the greenhouse,  Porkette seemed enraptured with the sweet scent of the iris, nose raised to greet the rising sun.  I felt the same way.

The birds were singing away and it reminded me of a Rose Kennedy, mother of President John F. Kennedy, quote I've always liked,

Birds sing after a storm; why shouldn't people feel as free to delight in whatever sunlight remains to them?

We spend a great deal of our time and energy dwelling on the less than perfect aspects of our lives that we sometimes miss those exquisite moments that happen every day.  No, the porch is not done and won't be for a while but I have this miraculous morning of sun and birdsong and everything seems as it should be.
