The Presiding Officer's Lion

I had dinner tonight in the Presiding Officer's Private Dining Room in Queensberry House - only the second time I have eaten there.

The dinner finished around ten and I then walked back to my flat , concluding a day that started with an alarm at 5.30 and continued with a three hour drive to Edinburgh , a three hour committee meeting , a Culture question and a marathon five hour session passing the Community Empowerment Bill , including the "Castle Toward" Amendments which in time may help to overcome Argyll & Bute Council's mule-ish refusal to help its own citizens.

The table decorations were presented to the Parliament by the Edinburgh Silversmiths and the Lion Rampants holding the candlesticks are particularly fine.
