Torch Relay

If you squint you can see 18 year old Ross Morrison zoom into George Square with the flame in the far left, as crowds of people take his photo. I had a much better shot except that his face was entirely obscured by the Coca-Cola drum thingy that child is waving. Damn those corporations.
Ross got to light the big flame and was chosen to carry the torch for his work running a basketball club and because he is a carer for both his parents.

This morning Alexander and I had a riverside walk with Nic and Saul, taking in several playparks and a supermarket. After lunch we zipped into town and they caught the airport bus.
Me and Alexander had a stroll around and met up with Mr HPW, and then made contact with my friend Gwyn who is staying tonight.

We all went to the City Chambers where the torch bearers were gathering and we got a very nice smile from James McAvoy *swoon* but I didn't have my camera.... then Mr HPW gave us a tour of the Chambers which is very grand indeed.

We had an early dinner at a teppanyaki restaurant complete with the chef flipping an egg into his hat, and a chip into Mr HPW's mouth. Alexander was impressed. Heck, I was impressed!

Then back to George Square to see the torch arrive, followed by a civic reception which Alexander greatly enjoyed.

On the way back to the car we passed a different torch bearer with his torch in a presentation bag. We belated thought of stopping him but he'd gone too far and didn't hear us. I don't seem to have the brass neck to get a really good blip!!

We have all collapsed now...
