Sudden summer

Another dull morning. Another cloudy evening, so that solstice or no there is only a strip of pale sky at midnight. But late this afternoon the sky above the south of Cowal cleared, the wind dropped, the sun was hot. Suddenly, and, as it turned out, briefly, it looked and felt like summer and the world seemed a better place.

This is a typical scene - the Rothesay ferry, a clutch of small boats at Toward sailing club, and in the foreground the yellow mustard on the verge between the Ardyne track and the beach.
