Nice to know that 12th Century Scotland had a David I. He was a bit of a religious nut (I blame his sainted mother) and gave lots of land away to abbeys.
It often surprises people unfamiliar with Scottish Medieval history that Macbeth ruled for 17 years, and was so secure that he could spend the better part of a year out of the country  on a visit to Rome.


(As you might guess, I spent another dull day at the computer, and was looking around for a desperation blip in the evening... ;)
