Wanderings & Witterings

On 29th November 2013 a police helicopter crashed into the roof of the Clutha Bar in Glasgow. All three on board the helicopter died in the tragedy as well as six people in the pub. Another person died of their injuries two weeks later. The pub has been closed ever since but plans are now well in hand for it to re-open, possibly later this year.

The outside of the bar is currently being decorated by Glasgow-based artists Art Pistol and features well-known people who have either performed or drank in the Clutha. What was the site of a tragedy is once more on its way to becoming a city landmark.

I know that similar pictures to this have already been posted on Blipfoto, but I wanted to visit the site for myself and, having now seen it, thought it worth sharing on my journal too.
