Great Hall

We are staying at Littlecote House which has seen settlement since pre-Roman times. We walked to a site in the grounds where a beautiful Roman mosaic is preserved. The house itself was medieval in origin and has been added to in different styles by different owners. This is the Tudor Great Hall. Littlecote was a meeting place for Jane Seymour and Henry VIII while he was still married to Ann Boleyn, and they would have known this hall. Now it is a quiet area with deep armchairs for the guests at the Warners Leisure Hotel.
I persuaded Normous onto the "putting green" today. At first he was very scornful because it was just a mown track through a daisy meadow. Once he had realised that he wasn't supposed to take it seriously, he quite enjoyed himself, and of course he won which helped!
The entertainment tonight was equally noisy - talented musicians and dancers. They have so much energy!
