Fred & Andy

Twilight football in Ubud

We have a really good night's sleep and wake a little groggy but feeling much better. The homestay we're staying in is really cute and we have breakfast at our private table just outside our room, overlooking the lovely gardens. We then head to town to check out a couple of agents to see how much they charge to renew visas. It's stupidly expensive ... double the actual visa price, it takes a week and you also have to visit the visa office once yourself for photos and fingerprints. We don't want to stay here a week so we either have to go and do it ourselves in Denpasar or think of another option. Staying in Denpasar doesn't appeal but you need to visit the visa office two or three (or some say four!) times so it's the best option here on Bali.

The whole thing puts Andy in a bad mood and after a little exploring he retires to play violin. Ubud is an incredibly touristy town. We're not sure why but we weren't quite expecting it to be quite like this and its a bit of a culture shock. Fred explores a bit more and does a bit of shopping and later we go out to dinner and listen to some live reggae in a busy little bar.
