A New Day

In the Frame

The frame in question is known as Millais' Viewpoint, sculpted by Tim Shutter, to honour Sir John Everett Millais who often lived and painted in Perth.  His wife Effie Gray came from the area and the Millais family used to come and stay every summer, so that Sir John could go hunting and fishing - and paint!  Effie and several of her children (they had eight!) are buried in the kirkyard behind the frame.

The Viewpoint forms part of a larger outdoor sculpture park along the banks of the River Tay and this one is in Rodney Gardens, which I visited this afternoon.  The Gardens are slow to grow this year, so there is still a lot of colour to come out later and I may blip it again.

Warmer today and even a bit muggy in the light drizzle.  Still not summer weather:-)
