Bus Challenge-ish No 64!!

The plan for today had been to head out into the hills for a long walk, but neither my Bus Challenge friend nor myself had the energy, so instead we met up in Bath and were tourists for the day!

We started off by heading to Parade Gardens, still laid out in much the same style as they were in Georgian times, where we sat in the sun and watched the world go by, while we waited for the café to open. This is the view that the people who work in the café pavilion have, with the serving hatch opening on to a Honeysuckle framed veranda, looking out onto the park and Abbey. Not a bad place to work!

After our morning ice cream, we headed to Victoria Art Gallery for the Bath Society of Artists' summer ‘open’ exhibition. There were over 300 dazzling paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures, all for sale, but all out of my price range! But I did buy a £1 ticket for the lottery of members’ work executed on postcards and displayed anonymously. Hidden amongst the 100 unique originals were some ‘big name’ artists, fingers crossed!!

After all that culture, we thought we deserved a treat so we headed back to the Parade Gardens and the café, and I had the largest, sweetest slice of Carrot and Treacle cake that you've ever seen! It's hard work being a tourist!!
