Wandering around The Shire!!

After yesterday's indulgences, I thought I ought to head out for a walk today! (Berger, I did as I was told!!) I ended up at one of the oldest and prettiest areas of town, where this 17th century stone bridge (which lies within the conservation area and features on the English Heritage list of structures under threat) crosses the River Chew.

It's also where you will find the Hobbit's door, and the home of the  knight in shining armour and his castle! If you look carefully, you can just see them on the left hand wall.

After all that exercise, I collapsed in the sun in the garden where I became completely hooked on the new book group read, 'Kingfishers Catch Fire' by Rumer Godden, highly recommended!!
