En route to Lombok

We're up early for our mini van pick-up but, after faffing around for well over an hour picking others up, are just down the road from where we started! No matter, we get to the ferry port and board a rather sorry looking car ferry. It gets pretty packed and they seem to be loading lorries on and off as if they can't decide which to take but eventually we're off and we get a decent spot in the shade on deck. The three and a half hours passes quickly with some nice scenery along the way and a pot mie (pot noodle) for lunch.

We booked a package straight to Mataram as it was cheap so are picked up at the port and taken to our destination hotel ... nice and easy. The hotel is a weird business place but it's close to Kantor Imigrasi which is why we chose it.

We head over the road to a small warung for a local dish of ayam taliwang and pelecing, a very spicy chicken dish with an even spicier sambal ...yum.
