Another impressive mosque

We get to Kantor Imigrasi nice and early at 8am ... and are back at our hotel by half past! All paperwork submitted we have an appointment to go back in two days time to pick up our visas and make our payment of 355,000 Indonesian Rupiahs each, which is the equivalent of about 26 USD, rather than the 35 we were expecting. There is another huge and rather impressive mosque opposite the immigration office.

That was easy but what to do for the next two days? We are either going to head to the touristy beach resort of Senggigi, about half an hour away, or find a hotel in Mataram with a pool and chill here for a couple of days. Senggigi doesn't sound great - it's very built up with lots of big hotels apparently and, although we're sure we'd find somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay we go for option 2 and find a hotel just down the road with a pool. It's walkable to the immigration office and we are happy to just do nothing much while we wait for a couple of days. We have a decent room which opens straight onto the pool so can't complain although it's a little above our usual budget. Swim, sunbathe, violin, read, eat and relax ... nice :-). Well, we only have a month left of our travels so why not.
