A view from Jeanneb

Findhorn

Made it! 12 hours door to door! Yes it is a long way but there are reasons why it has taken us all day.

First they were resurfacing the A65 between Kildwick and Skipton - oh joy!

We then stopped for coffee and a breakfast bap at Tebay services before heading onward.

We finally reached Findhorn on the Moray Firth just after 4.00pm for a late lunch/early tea with our son Alex. It has now become our tradition to meet him here at the Crown and Anchor alongside the harbour of this lovely little town. The summer has started here in the highlands today, so we were told, and we were able to sit outside for our meal as we have done on previous visits.

This shot is taken looking across the harbour out towards the Firth and the mountains beyond, probably on the Black Isle.
It is taken into the sun so looks a little dark. The view inland in the other direction can be seen in my extra.

At about 6.00pm we left Alex for the 2 hour onward journey.

Have now settled in with a cup of tea and a slice of chocolate cake ( it is our birthdays this week) bought at Country Harvest en route!

It's 10.00 pm and still light. The mountains are as clear as a bell and as beautiful as ever! A quick walk to the beach before bed. Ah!
