Rippled Reflection

The rowing club reflected in the Kaiapoi River and then flipped, just for something different, I quite liked the effect of the ripples.

The club is based on the Kaiapoi and Waimakariri rivers in North Canterbury, New Zealand. They have been training and holding rowing events on the Kaiapoi and Waimakariri Rivers since 1868. The Boating Club was established to "cure" the fierce rivalry between professional Kaiapoi river rowing crews that used to meet for high profile races on the Waimakariri and Kaiapoi rivers in the early 1860's.

The clubhouse was damaged in the earthquakes and will be demolished sometime soon making way for a new designed clubhouse overseeing the Kaiapoi River.

Feeling very tired after several sleepless nights, my eyes are not to good at present so today has been a rest day from the computer. Instead I was out and about with my mum, walkingS, grocery shopping, a wander by the Kaiapoi River and gardens, lunch out and another stroll at the estuary. Pleasant but cold, fairly calm with a strong nor'west arch overhead.

Mum had her first macro lesson today, she did really well and I think it may become her preferred form of photography :)))

Must fly now and put the jug on for a nice hot cuppa.

Happy Thursday everyone :)

Edit: I've just added the Waikuku Estuary as an extra, giving you an idea of the cloud and nor'west arch today.
