Istanbul

An early start to the day which was easy after yesterday's relax. The day was very energetic and we must have walked ten miles and more.

We took in many of the great sites and first on the list was Topkapı Palace which was an impressive structure from the 15th century. About three hours spent taking in the grounds and the many buildings on the site, we were also lucky to see the military band parade which only happens twice a week.

Obviously the highlight was the Blue Mosque. Such a magnificent building and really showed the nice majority side of the Islamic faith. Next was the Hagia Sophia church which was also just as impressive and had a long history of Christianity and Islamic faith so inside you saw the imagery of Jesus Christ and the script of Mohammed side by side. It is now a museum and not used for religious purposes.

To finish of the day we had an hour in the famous Bazaar which to be honest was a waste of time, to many shops selling the same stuff that we didn't need.

Extras include the Bazaar, military man, produce for sale and one pretty big mosque.
