The Bay Bridge

Today we took the ferry from Alameda to San Francisco:Pier 39. The sea lions who used to be such a vocal (and rather smelly) part of the view have left! They were such fun to watch!

We went up some black and white stairs-a huge piano! To the mirror maze and had a great time there with the kids! (Extra)

We left them and walked through SF via China Town and the Transamerica pyramid building to pick the ferry up by the Ferry building.

This photo was taken on the way home in the ferry and shows the truncated end of the old bay bridge between Oakland and Yerba Buena (the Island in the middle of the bay Bridge). It broke in the 1989 earthquake (17 October-my birthday!) and a new bridge, retrofitted, has taken its place. This is a photo I took last year.

The old bridge is being dismantled. There may be problems with the new bridge!
