The Ubiquitous Dragonfly

This fellow, and a hundred hundred others of various hue, flitted round and around us as we walked along the Canal Du Midi at the start of our summer work experience (I got quite good at keeping the salt pool clean and chemically stable, and Happy_Janwen was very good with the clever horticultural stuff. Yes, watering.)    :-)

This holiday (because, let's not beat around the bush, it was a lovely, lovely holiday, with some occasional jobs) was gently flavoured by the gleeful possession of my new macro lens, and the number of amazingly photogenic bugs we came across. Our friend here is one of the early captures. The extra is a cicada that wanted to sing to us... forever. Until we got too close, then he just listened quietly.

We celebrated meeting him with some wine. And some beer. And some.
