Mono Monday #75 ~ Winter

With a maximum temperature of around twenty-three Celsius today, and brilliant blue skies, you can hardly call it typical winter weather, but having lived here for a number of years I had a few tell-tale signs to choose from for today's Mono Monday theme ~Winter.

The pecan nut tree looked lush and green less than a month ago, when some Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos visited the tree for breakfast. Now, the branches are all but bare, with just the gradually maturing nuts remaining. In extras, you will see a fuller view of a pecan-laden branch.

Another sign of winter is the smoke billowing from the Sugar Mill in the valley. The huge chimney remains dormant throughout the warmer weather whilst the cane is growing, and as harvesting begins, so do the workers. There's a shot of the mill in the distant valley in extras also.

Many thanks to irunlykagirl for hosting each Monday during July.
