mm75, The Larch twins..

After indulging myself with watching too much tennis (well done Murray) I took Flossie for a walk in the woods.  There were masses of animal darting here there and everywhere an I found these beautiful cones which had snapped off in one of the very windy spells before the thunder storm I think.  

As I was walking back carrying them I was thinking how much fir cones mean winter and Christmas to me.. and how pretty these would be in an arrangement but by then they wouldnt have their lovely soft needles attached.  However it seems that  Winter is the theme for the Monomonday challenge today set by irunlykagirl so.. here they are in the middle of summer.. my Winter contribution!!
