On Some Days

The Hopeful Future

The daughter, the forester and I spent the day walking around the central city or what used to be the central city.  We were here a little over a year ago and today we really noticed the many new buildings under construction.
The museum had a fascinating exhibition called The Whole House Reuse project.  It took nine days for a wooden 1925 bungalow to be  deconstructed by hand.  They people behind this project wanted to show there is value in materials that are usually thrown away.  The materials can have another life.  The exhibition showed the objects created from those materials.  We were amazed by the diversity from children's toys and jewellery to furniture.
My main image is the basement of what was the office tower our daughter was working in on February 22nd.  The extras show her in front of a new building under construction that the firm she works for is going to lease.  It is next to the impressive looking glass building where you can see the scissor lift.  She will be right beside the river.
