Chapelle Saint-André

We went out early (to beat the heat!) and drove up towards the Gorges de Verdon and stopped at the village of Comps sur Artuby. It's well provided for in churches and chapels, I think there are four but we only saw three of them.

Comps used to be a 'perched village' and everything was centred around this chapel built by the Knights Hospitaliers, although it's been largely rebuilt (in the 18th century) since then. It has a very ornate roof. There's a B&W version in my extras and a couple more of the village including one I like, looking out from the lavoir. I'm always fascinated by these communal laundry areas and frequently photograph them. I think this one works better than most, with the bright coloured building opposite.

It continues to be very hot although there's been a bit more breeze the last couple of days.
